Hackers steal $2 million worth CS:GO skin collection

Some items have been resold

The allegedly most expensive inventory of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive items have been hacked. The awful part? an estimated $2 million dollars worth of skins were stolen from the victim.

The unfortunate news came after @OhnePixel Twitter user, posted a tweet with all the details, mainly asking for help from the CS:GO or Steam social media teams, suggesting it wasn’t to late to do something.

Sadly, half of the items got sold and the other half seem to be in the hacker’s steam account on trade hold. What is even sadder is that this collection included seven prized souvenir AWP Dragon Lore skins, no-star karambit and #1 blue gems.

Did Steam help after all?

Apparently, Steam support manually banned people who bought the stolen items to solve the issue. However, is not been confirmed if the items have been given back to their original owner yet.

According to Dotesports, the victim’s Steam account was compromised last week, with hackers changing the account name and associated email without the owner noticing at first.
