The news about Gotham Knights continues to pour out in the last few hours, as we now get new information about the upcoming next-gen exclusive game that will take us back to the ever-dangerous Gotham City.
We already know that Batman will not be in the game, nor will his most emblematic villain, the Joker, and now we have more news to share.
Straight from San Diego Comic-Con, we've just learned that the game is getting a prequel in the form of a short comic book series starring the biggest character missing from Warner Bros. Games' title: Batman.
Everything we know about this complementary story
As revealed during a panel held at the aforementioned event (vía Popverse), this prequel will be called Batman: Gotham Knights - Glided City and will consist of a total of six issues.
This comic book miniseries will be written by Evan Narcisse (Gen: LOCK, Rise of the Black Panther) and will feature art by ABEL (Harley Quinn), telling us the story of a virus that has affected Gotham City, turning its citizens into rage-obsessed maniacs.
But wait, it's way more complicated than you probably think at the moment, as the story takes place over a century before the present, with Batman and his team discovering that what's happening in the city in the present is connected to events from the 1800s, including the mysterious Runaway, one of Gotham's first masked vigilantes.
Each issue will feature a cover from Greg Capullo and include a code that fans can redeem for an in-game item, starting with a BOSO22 Batcycle Skin, available when the game launches. Plus, every one of pick up all six issues will have a bonus seventh item
And if you're a diehard fan of Batman, know that issue #1 of the series will feature variant covers by Yanick Paquette, Christopher Mitten, and Jim Lee with Scott Williams.
The Batman: Gotham Knights - Gilded City comic series will be available on October 25, the same day as Gotham Knights on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
