Xbox x Discord: much more than voice chat

This is just the beginning

A few days ago, we told you that Discord would finally be available on Xbox, giving Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S users (mobile and PC in the future) a new option to communicate during online games. A feature that many users had been asking for a long time.

Well, it seems like this is just the tip of the iceberg, as we just learned that both companies are exploring what other features they could offer to gamers to provide an even better experience.

Via the official Xbox podcast hosted by Larry Hyrb (aka Major Nelson), Bill Ridman, an Xbox engineer working on the Discord integration with the Xbox ecosystem, gave a short but exciting statement on what to expect in the future

Like any feature, we are always attentively listening to feedback, learning how we can tweak things. And we, collectively Xbox and Discord, we do view this as just a step in a journey where we've had a lot of really exciting early conversations of what's next beyond voice chat on Xbox. And I don't have anything specific to share about that at this time, but I just say that we have some really exciting stuff in the works.

Anything we can say from Ridman's statements would be nothing more than speculation. With that being said, tell us, what other features would you like to see as a result of this partnership between Xbox and Discord? Tell us in the comments box below.
