Here comes a new challenger!

MultiVersus is the video game of the moment, and there is no doubt about that. From its very first rumors through the official reveal trailer, then with the closed alfa and the closed beta, and now with the open beta, it hasn't lost momentum.

Over time, players have been able to try several roster fighters coming from the different worlds that collide in this unlikely crossover. All different from each other and with movements reflecting their personality very well.

As is always the case with games involving characters from multiple franchises, fans are always eager to see their favorites make an appearance.

However, for some or other reason the wishes of the community do not always end up coming true. This is when the modders show up to save the day.

Here comes the Hero of Time!

No matter how different they are from one another, it's virtually impossible for the community not to draw comparisons between the Multiversus and Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series. And now that we can play Link in both games, it's even harder to avoid this discussion.

Modder junior3DM shared a video on their Twitter account showing Link in place of Wonder Woman, before revealing an early access version of the mod was available to download.

The design of the hero chosen by the modder is the one corresponding to the Nintendo 64 classic, TLoZ: Ocarina of Time. We think the result looks pretty impressive. But don't trust us, and please take a look:

If you are wondering why the modding expert decided to use Wonder Woman as a base model, the answer is actually quite simple once we take a look at her gameplay. In addition to the DC Comics heroine being one of the few fighters to use a shield, many of her moves fit quite well with Link's fighting style.

"This mod is NOT in any way finished. I just decided to finally have something released and for people to play with", junior 3DM assured to not disappoint anyone expecting a perfect character. If you want to download and try it for yourself, you can do it at GameBanana.

On an interesting note, the Ocarina of Time outfit was not the first option the modder thought of for his Link. The original plan was to use the Breath of the Wild look, but for some reason, this option ended up causing several visual issues.

What do you think? Do you like how this mod looks? What other character would you like to see in the game? Tell us in the comments box below.

The Multiverses open beta is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, featuring crossplay and cross-progression.

Keep informed with LEVEL UP.
