Activision is making more money out of Mobile games than PC and console

Does this generation prefer mobile gaming?

Is mobile gaming the biggest market right now? Apparently, it is! and Activision-Blizzard just verified it as the company confirmed via financial documents that a great part of their income came from mobile games surpassing console and PC earnings combined.

Originally reported by TweakTown, the company published a report last week containing detailed information on each of their game's financial performances.

For example, Diablo ImmortalCall of Duty Mobile, and Candy Crush Saga are the titles that bring most of the money to Activision Blizzard.

Diablo Immortal only, helped Activision-Blizzard to stabilize economically after pandemic spending highs. Technically the earnings skyrocketed by 462% year-over-year with the three titles mentioned before.

How much money is that exactly?

In detail, during Q2 2022, mobile generated $831 million and accounted for 51% of total quarterly earnings. While console produced $376 million, PC $332 million, and $105 million from distribution and esports events.

Actually, Candy Crush and Farm Heroes from King stand up in the report after generating over $680 million alone, again, mobile gaming is the future… or the present.

As noted by Kotaku we live in an era where AAA games are more expensive to make than ever, that’s why many developers are looking towards alternatives like mobile gaming which have demonstrated that its massive influence can triplicate their investments.
