GoldenEye 007 for the Nintendo 64 is a jewel, one of the best titles from the 90s and chances are that if you didn’t play it you have heard wonders about it at least once.

The first-person shooter was developed by Rare for the Nintendo 64 and released on 1997, based on the James Bond GoldenEye film, the game was an instant success. The player took control of the secret agent James Bond through a series of levels trying to stop a criminal group from using a satellite weapon, you could even play a local multiplayer with a split-screen.

Well, how about if I tell you that this game, which inspired a whole generation of gamers will have its very own documentary called GoldenEra.

Actually, Cinedigm revealed to Collider that the company acquired the title which will give us a deep look at the rise and fall of the innovative team behind the game.

According to them, you will be able to watch it on digital and On Demand on August 23. The documentary features interviews with Peer Schneider, Chief Content Officer at IGN, Robert Bowling, FMR Creative Strategist at Infinity Ward and face of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Mick Gordon, Music Composer on DOOM EternalWolfenstein, and Prey.

On the other hand Chief Content Officer at Cinedigm Yolanda Macias noted that this documentary is an important title on their catalogue taking into account the legacy of GoldenEye.

“Even two decades after its release, GoldenEye still has a massive impact on modern-day gaming. There is so much for fans to love about this documentary. Whether you’re a fan of gaming, CONs, the 90s or James Bond, this film encapsulates that era so precisely and it brings on a nostalgia factor.”
