You better not be patching the game…

Splatoon 3 is arriving next week and apparently Nintendo has anti-cheat in place, banning every player who has patched their game to access areas they aren't meant to.

You may be wondering how these players got near this area in the first place, well, as you may know, Nintendo has been holding online tests for its multiplayer games and Splatoon 3 is not an exception as they held one over the weekend.

Players didn’t stop there and patched the game in order enter the testing range early, sadly (for them) each of these players has been receiving console bans and potentially also Nintendo Switch Online bans as result.

What do they even expect?

All this information was shared by dataminer @OatmealDome, who also noted how unsurprising this is as a similar situation happened with Splatoon 2 back in 2018 which used a very similar system to detect these patches.

To be fair, we can’t believe how players thought that modifying the game was a good idea knowing that this had happened before and the risks of complete bans were higher than ever. The best option was to wait thinking that Splatoon 3 launches on September 9, so you could have waited instead of being banned for something that was about to arrive anyways.

If you haven’t decided if play Splatoon 3 or not, you should make up your mind soon! In the meantime, we will leave the latest Splatoon direct with the newest updates so you convince yourself.
