The current week has already provided several surprises for those who consider themselves free game hunters, and now it's the Steam store that delivers the surprise.2K recently confirmed that a new significant chapter in the Mafia series is in the works.
To commemorate this announcement and the series' 20th anniversary, Steam users will be able to redeem one of the franchises' storied titles for free until September 5th.

The free title is the legendary first chapter of Mafia, the iteration that launched one of the early 2000s' most popular sagas. This is not the most recent remake, which came out a few years ago, but the title that launched the brand 20 years ago.
And it is precisely to commemorate these 20 years of distinguished service that 2K has decided to give away this priceless treasure. Even if you are not a fan of this saga, just having it in your game library to show off is enough to make it worthy.
Mafia has always been an atypical open-world title, with a largely explorable city paired with a very linear story and narrative unfolding, but with endearing characters that we fondly remember to this day.
