MultiVersus is almost ready to officially welcome Gizmo, the new Season 1 fighter who was revealed as a surprise last week and hails from the 1980s. The Gremlins protagonist was presented in a teaser trailer and will be available in the game on Thursday.
Thus, the fighter has been the subject of a minor delay: it was supposed to see the light on Tuesday, September 6, but due to an unexpected snafu, it has been pushed back by 48 hours.
The team also anticipated that he would be a different character than the previously announced Stripe, and Gizmo will be a healer. It has also been revealed how many gold coins we require to unlock him.
MultiVersus has revealed some of the cute Mogwai's abilities in a new official post that also shows its official artwork: the new fighter will be able to use a flaming bow, latch onto the backs of his allies, and sing to damage his opponents.

In response to a fan's question about how many gold coins it will take to unlock the new character, good news arrived: it will be cheaper than Morty Smith, costing only 2,000 coins.
Fans interested in unlocking it right away would therefore do well to make sure they have that amount of gold coins before the official launch of Gizmo, scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, September 8.
