Phantom Liberty will be the only Cyberpunk 2077 expansion

This may be the game’s first and last DLC

On September 6th, Night City Wire revealed Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty expansion, which will be released later in 2023 at an unspecified date by CD Projekt RED. The major DLC will expand V's story by introducing the character to a new scenario.

Phantom Liberty is expected to conclude the story of Cyberpunk 2077, as no further expansions are planned. As spotted by XGP, CD Projekt RED confirmed this by responding to a fan in the comments section of the teaser video for the additional content, stating that "Phantom Liberty is the only planned expansion for Cyberpunk 2077."

This news clarifies the Polish studio's plans, which had already hinted during the previous financial report that Cyberpunk 2077 would only have one expansion.

Phantom Liberty will be the company's final project to be developed with the REDengine (already used for the base game), as they will switch to the Unreal Engine for future projects, which is already official for the new saga of The Witcher.

At this point, all that remains is to learn more about the first and final expansion of the well-known title in the coming months, as well as the epilogue to V's story.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, Epic Games, GOG, and Stadia.
