Are you the type of person who always seems to attract bad luck? Well, if something goes wrong with your Steam Deck, you now have a new option if it needs to be repaired.

Valve has confirmed that its Steam Deck repair centers are now open, with Steam Deck owners able to send in their devices for a complete diagnosis and potential solution.

''We are happy to announce today that our new Steam Deck repair centers are now open,'' their official blog reads. ''If you encounter an issue and need to send your Steam Deck for repair or replacement, devices will now go to one of our repair centers. Once there, our team will diagnose the device, repair it if needed, then ship the fixed unit back to you.''

Valve goes on to explain that a console that develops an intermittent button problem, for example, would be covered under warranty, while a Steam Deck ruined by your dog would require a fee to fix. However, they also offered alternatives.

Repair kits and guides for the Steam Deck are all available on iFixit if you feel like fixing the Steam Deck yourself. The popular DIY repair site has been stocking Steam Deck parts since the beginning of the year.

''We're glad to get this service up and running - most folks won't ever need to use it, but for those of you that do, we want to make sure you're taken care of,'' Valve states.
