Jeff Grubb apologizes for spreading “unverified” Legend of Zelda rumours

After the Nintendo Direct didn’t show these games people were mad

The latest Nintendo Direct gave us excellent news, like our first look at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, however many players were expecting something else. As you should know, a good number of industry insiders claimed that remasters for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime were going to be announced in the latest stream, unfortunately, this didn’t happen.

Of course, this angered some people which were pretty vocal about the whole ordeal and one of the biggest names on this insider list was Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, who recently posted a video apologizing for spreading a rumour without verifying it.

Grubb talked about the mayor in a 13-minute video where besides apologizing he clarified the situation. For starters, he offered an apology on Mike Minotti’s behalf, who also spoke on the rumours saying that both of them just “jumped the gun heavily on this”; acknowledging that they never verified their sources like they typically do.

He also said that both may “misheard” the details about the Zelda games however, he is still under the assumption that the Metroid Prime remaster is a reality and is coming this holiday season.

Of course, he noted that he learned his lesson and that is no one to blame except him as he should have confirmed everything he heard, once again he promised that will never ever talk about a leak again without double-checking every piece of information.

If you want to check the whole video we will leave it below:
