Disney wants a new Star Wars game every 6 months

Speaking about ambitious plans…

Seems like Disney has ambitious plans for Star Wars, according to a recent report the company plans to further increase the saga's presence in gaming and we can be more excited about it.

Tom Henderson, an independent journalist and reliable source has suggested that the company’s goal is to release a new game of the saga at least every 6 months, meaning that one major AAA title and one smaller game per fiscal year can see the light. As expected, this comes after Electronic Arts lost exclusive access to the franchise.

The more, the merrier

Despite the passing of the years, Star Wars’ popularity does not disappear, which is why Disney already has quite a few Star Wars games in the pipeline for the coming months. So far,  eight Star Wars titles have been announced among them Amy Hennig’s Game, Untitled FPS, an Open World Game, Star Wars: Eclipse, Knights of the Old Republic Remake, Jedi: Survivor (Fallen Order sequel), Star Wars: Hunters and an untitled Strategy Game.

Although most of them do not have an exact release date at the moment. Henderson notes that there are also other unannounced projects that are in the pre-development stage. Some of the games are already confirmed, such as Star Wars: Eclipse by Quantic Dream which sources citing that the game will be a “development nightmare”.

On the other hand, a couple of ones are still some time away. Henderson bets that one of the big projects not yet confirmed could be a game based on The Mandalorian.

In addition, he believes that in the coming months we will know other minor projects of the saga, which could well be mobile titles or games similar to Star Wars Squadrons. In short, it seems that there will be quite a few Star Wars games in the future.
