The company was criticized once again for its poor communication about the service

We recently reported that Google announced that it would close the Google STADIA service. It was significant news and especially shocking for many developers since many commented that the company did not even notify them about the end of the service. This is despite the fact that several creatives already had scheduled releases.

Now, users of the platform are also upset with Google, as the company decided to close the service store without prior notice. While it was unlikely that they would acquire more content, the community was surprised by how the company communicated the end of its cloud gaming project.

STADIA STORE NO LONGER ACCEPTING PURCHASES OR NEW RELEASES

To avoid confusion, Google is now notifying all STADIA users that the service will shut down permanently on January 18. Players receive a notification upon login and are informed that the platform store is now closed.

Users will be able to continue enjoying their library of titles for the next few months, but they will no longer have access to more content. Thus, the service no longer supports purchases or new releases. In reality, Google closed the STADIA store without prior notice since it did not report on it in its published statement this week.

Some gamers believe that users should be allowed access to the entire catalog before burying the service, especially given the existence of some exclusive titles. However, this would not make sense for the company, which will offer full refunds to all of its customers.

Be that as it may, the fate of the service is fixed, and both users and developers are upset by how Google communicates everything.
