The Medium is a psychological horror game by the Polish studio Bloober Team, released in January 2021. The action takes place in post-communist Poland, where the main character, Marianna, a medium living in the world, helps stray souls find peace. One day, she receives a phone call from a mysterious man asking her to show up at a former tourist resort where many people died for unknown reasons long ago.
The title immediately became one of the most important representatives of its genre, receiving positive reviews from both players and critics.
Today, The Medium developer Bloober Team has announced that it is teaming up with Platige Image for a TV series adaptation of the game. The project will run under the creative supervision of Platige Image's Tomasz Bagiński and Bloober Team co-founder and CEO Piotr Babieno.
Bloober Team announced the TV adaptation of the video game in a blog post, only available in Polish at the moment, which explains why now is the perfect time to create an adaptation of the popular horror game.
“The latest hits of streaming platforms based on games such as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners or Arcane have shown that this is the perfect time for such productions,” he said.
“Participation in the creative supervision of the project from such an important figure in Polish cinematography as Tomasz Bagiński proves that we want to create something truly amazing. The whole team working on the concept of the series felt they were working on something special; we hope this enthusiasm will be visible in the quality of the series.”
Details remain unclear at the moment, but hopefully, we will get to know more about the TV adaptation soon!
