Fallout's 25th-anniversary celebrations continue with the announcement by the folks at Bethesda Softworks themselves of the development of Fallout 4's Nextgen Update for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

What will the next-gen update bring?

The development house inside Xbox Game Studios confirms that it is working on this major update that will involve not only owners of the RPG colossal on last-generation Xbox platforms (and those who enjoy it on Game Pass) but also buyers of the title on Windows PC and PlayStation 5.

The update in question will be rolled out in 2023 and will be available for free download on all platforms. The update will introduce a Performance mode with higher framerate, a Quality mode for playing in 4K, numerous bug fixes, Creation Club bonus content, and more.

In case you missed it: Mexican sound designer María Félix receives an award for her work at Novel Effect.

Therefore, we have to be patient for the official launch date of the next-gen Update of Fallout 4 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S (as well as on Xbox and PC Game Pass). The most recent game in the series was 2018’s online multiplayer title Fallout 76, its Expeditions update was released in September.
