At The Game Awards 2022, FromSoftware confirmed the rumors and officially announced Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, the new installment of the mecha franchise. There are still many doubts surrounding this project, but a new report sheds light on the possible release window.

According to a report from eXputer, the sixth installment of the combat saga will debut this fall. This is according to allegedly unnamed sources familiar with the production of the project.

Specifically, sources explain that the developers plan to release Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon in September or October of this year. They indicate that, unless there is a setback and it is delayed internally, there is a better chance that the debut will take place at the end of September.

Finally, the report indicates that FromSoftware plans to release the new video game in the mecha franchise before Shadow of the Erdtree, the new ELDEN RING expansion that was announced this week. As always, we remind you that this information is not confirmed, so we recommend taking it with reservations and waiting until the studio in charge of the project makes an official announcement.

Regarding the production, Bandai Namco already revealed that Hidetaka Miyazaki, the mind behind the Dark Souls saga and ELDEN RING, was the initial director of the project. However, he later passed the baton to Masaru Yamamura, the lead designer of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Of course, Hidetaka Miyazaki has already made it clear that Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is not a Souls with a futuristic skin, although it will still be a challenging experience.

The last Armored Core title debuted over a decade ago for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 generations. It's safe to say that fans of this cult saga are very eager to enjoy the new installment that was announced late last year at the awards ceremony. The title is in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and will debut sometime this year.
