Capcom found an ingenious way to promote Resident Evil 4 Remake, the long-awaited game that will arrive later this month. The studio is offering fans the chance to enjoy a prequel to the title to delve a little deeper into the franchise's lore. Best of all, the prequel is free and everyone interested can already enjoy it. However, it is important to clarify that this is not a video game, but an alternate-reality narrative game that turns fans into detectives of sorts.

Resident Evil 4 Remake's ARG (alternate reality game) is a narrative-driven interactive experience. This curious project is called "Baby Eagle is missing" in a clear allusion to Ashley Graham, the president's daughter whom Leon S. Kennedy must rescue.

The experience focuses on the events that happened before the game, so it has details about the U.S. Secret Service and its involvement in Resident Evil 4 Remake. The sequel challenges players with several tests, where they will have to peruse documents and photographs to submit some answers.

In this way, they will delve into the lore of the remake and refresh a bit of the title's story. The experience is available at this babyeagleismissing.com and, apparently, it will be updated with new content towards the launch of the title. Originally, this alternate reality game was posted on Reddit, but now it has an official site.

" Dozens of agents have been mobilized to the scene, but we need global intel and assistance, you'll be analyzing and decoding the fragmented data we are getting from the ground. Everything they know, you'll know, and together - hopefully - we can get to recover Baby Eagle before it's too late," its description reads.

This ARG experience is a good way to entice its audience to interact a bit with the story of the interesting Resident Evil 4 universe in preparation for what we will be able to enjoy later this month when the long-awaited Remake is released.
