Resident Evil 4 Remake demo has an extremely difficult secret mode

After a long wait, Resident Evil 4 Remake is just around the corner and will debut at the end of the month. If you're dying to play it, you should know that a free demo debuted yesterday. So, you can now face the horrors that the Village harbors alongside Leon S. Kennedy.

Have you already finished the demo and are waiting for a real challenge? In that case, you should know that the demo of the new version of the survival horror has an extremely difficult secret difficulty mode, which will test your skills and patience.

We are talking about the Mad Chainsaw Mode, a special mode that increases the difficulty considerably. Enemies are more resistant and cause more damage, plus they appear in other locations to keep the surprise factor. In addition, there are no checkpoints, which means that if you lose you will have to start from the beginning.

It is unknown how to unlock this difficulty mode, but everything indicates that it is a mere matter of luck. Apparently, every time you start the demo there is a chance that the game will offer you to activate the Mad Chainsaw Mode. So, the easiest way to access it is to restart the application several times until the message in question appears.

Finally, it is important to note that this secret mode is exclusive to the demo version of Resident Evil 4 Remake, which means that it will not be in the final version that will arrive in a couple of weeks. The reason for this decision is a mystery.

While this secret mode is part of the demo, it is possible that we will find the option to play the title with different difficulties and this may be one of them. It is also possible that this challenge is something exclusive to the demo, giving a small nod to the experience of The Mercenaries game mode. Resident Evil 4 Remake will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC from March 24, 2023.
