The massive success of Hogwarts Legacy has unequivocally demonstrated that Harry Potter remains one of the most gargantuan franchises in the entire world of entertainment. This is an undeniable fact that Warner Bros. simply cannot afford to ignore, and as such, they're currently prepping a reboot of the franchise in the form of a television series.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, Warner Bros. is in the final stages of closing a deal that will see HBO develop a television series based on J.K. Rowling's beloved Harry Potter novels. The plan is to create a whopping 7-season series, with each one covering one of the books in a much more comprehensive and nuanced way than the early 2000s films ever did.

One crucial point to note is that Warner Bros. wants J.K. Rowling herself to be involved in the series, working on it to ensure that it remains faithful to the original material. However, she won't be the main creative force behind the project, nor will she be involved in its day-to-day production. Her role will be more of an advisory capacity.

Apparently, Warner Bros. Discovery is hoping that this new Harry Potter series will serve as the centerpiece of a brand new streaming strategy, which will be unveiled next week. Alongside this will be the announcement of other exciting series and films that will be heading to Max, the new streaming service that will replace HBO Max. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further developments.

So, what do you think? Are you excited for a Harry Potter reboot, or do you think it's completely unnecessary? Let us know in the comments below.
