Metal Gear Solid 3 is undoubtedly one of the most cherished titles in the acclaimed Konami and Hideo Kojima franchise. After months of rumors and speculations, a new clue emerged suggesting the existence of a remake for this popular stealth and action game. However, it's best to temper your expectations.
As we reported earlier, Donna Burke shared a series of photos on her social media showing her in a recording session related to an IP project. In case you aren't aware, she's a voice actress and singer who performed melodies for Peace Walker and The Phantom Pain. She also sings the iconic Snake Eater theme from the third installment at concerts, even though the original singer is Cynthia Harrell.
In one of the photos, the singer holds a folder that says "Snake Eater." Also, in another image, the lyrics of the song can be seen. Therefore, everything seemed to indicate that she was working on a new version of the theme for the rumored Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. Unfortunately, it was just a misunderstanding.
Following this wave of speculation, Mason Lieberman, the musical producer and director of the project, took to his Twitter account to put an end to the rumors. Specifically, he confirmed that he and Donna Burke are not working on the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. However, he did confirm that they're working on a new version of the main theme.
"It's not to ruin anyone's parade, it's to prevent misinformation from spreading. We're not working on the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake. We're not working for Tencent either (Before that conspiracy theory goes around!) Yes, we're working on Snake Eater, and it sounds amazing," the director commented.
Despite this news being insufficient to shatter the hopes of the community, Donna Burke supported these statements and confirmed that she recorded Snake Eater but not for the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. She stated that it's a project that she and Mason Lieberman are working on purely for fun.
Not to rain on anyone's parade, but to avoid misinformation getting out there: We are not working on Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake 😅 We're also not working for Tencent (before THAT conspiracy takes hold!).

Thus, the re-release of Hideo Kojima's classic video game is still uncertain. According to reports, Konami plans to announce it during the upcoming summer announcement season, although it's unclear when and how it will happen due to the cancellation of E3 2023. However, fans should moderate their expectations to avoid disappointment in case the announcement never comes.
