Roblox has built enormous success in recent years and easily competes with the most successful gaming propositions. However, its design as a creative platform rather than a traditional video game with a defined concept has allowed it to fly under the radar, surprising everyone when it comes to its revenue and earnings. Strangely enough, Roblox is not available on PlayStation (although it is available on Xbox) and it appears that Sony has said "no more."
PlayStation is doing everything possible to have Roblox
According to a report from Axios, Sony is very interested in having a version of Roblox for PlayStation, and apparently, the Japanese company has already made some progress in this regard. Beyond the technical adjustments that need to be made for Roblox to operate on PlayStation, what surprises is what the Sony brand is doing to make the game debut, as it has not been able to do so thus far due to the existing policies and guidelines for child protection on the platform.
NEW - PlayStation policies around anything that "could potentially exploit" children are the reason Roblox isn't on Sony's consoles, PlayStation chief Jim Ryan told investors in early 2022

But the company has relaxed its policies and hopes to get Robloxhttps://t.co/uvuO4Misxy
According to statements from Jim Ryan, one of the actions PlayStation is taking to publish Roblox on its platform is modifying its child protection policies: "Historically, due to the large number of children playing on PlayStation, we have been very cautious about exposing them to anything that could exploit them. In recent years, however, we have reviewed those policies and have relaxed them a bit. We have been conservative for too long, and now we are engaging with the people from Roblox. We hope the situation changes."
The controversy in this regard is that Roblox has been criticized for operating in various gray areas regarding child protection systems, allowing users to spend indiscriminately on microtransactions. However, the red flag lies in the content, as users have reported that despite having child protection filters activated, games promoting sex, violence, and abstract forms of suicide that go undetected by Roblox continue to appear.
