The Borderlands movie finally has a release date. According to information from Deadline, the film, helmed by Eli Roth (Hostel, Death Wish), will debut on August 9, 2024.

So, there's one year left for the Borderlands movie to hit theaters. It's worth mentioning that, if all plans stay as they are, this Lionsgate film will debut on the same day as Universal's Speak No Evil and MGM's Flint Strong.

With this, the Borderlands movie seems to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after going through a post-production hell. Remember that the main filming for the movie ended in mid-2021, but a few months ago, there were reshoots and changes in the script with another writer. Therefore, having a release date seems to indicate that the production is on the right track, and Lionsgate is confident that their product will be ready within the next 13 months.

We remind you that the Borderlands movie will star Cate Blanchett, an Oscar winner, who will portray Lilith, a treasure hunter with a mysterious past. On a mission in Pandora, she encounters Roland (Kevin Hart), Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), Krieg (Floriann Muntenau), Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis), and Claptrap (Jack Black). This group will have to battle alien monsters to find the daughter of Atlas, one of the most powerful magnates in the universe.
