Street Fighter 6: you'll have to spend $100 USD to get all the TMNT content

Capcom's title received cosmetic items from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a new crossover

Street Fighter 6 hit stores in early June and received praise from the community. As a live-service game, new characters and other updates will debut in the months following its release. This week marked the start of a new and unexpected collaboration, although players will need to open their wallets if they want to get all the new content.

During EVO 2023, Capcom announced that the popular fighting game will cross paths with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The crossover has already begun, and fans can acquire 4 special outfits inspired by Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. Additionally, masks in various colors, emotes, photo mode stamps, and in-game mobile wallpapers will be available.

Unfortunately, controversy emerged. Now that these items are available for purchase in the in-game store, the community discovered that a considerable amount of money is required to obtain them.

CONTROVERSY ARISES FROM THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE TMNT AND STREET FIGHTER 6

Items from this collaboration are bought with Fighter Coins, Street Fighter 6's premium currency obtained with real money or through challenges. According to the information, each of the turtle skins costs 750 units, which means the 4 of them have a total value of 3000 coins.

The complete set of decals, gestures, photo mode frames, and wallpapers have a combined price of 1300 Fighter Coins. On the other hand, each mask costs 250. If we do a bit of math, we'll find that all the TMNT content has a price of 5300 coins.

In case a player has 0 Fighter Coins and wants to acquire all the content this collaboration offers, they'll need to purchase 2 packs of 2750 coins, totaling $99.98 USD. That's more than the cost of a standard edition of Street Fighter 6.

If a fan only wants to buy the outfits for Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo, they need to acquire 2750 coins for $50 USD and an additional 250 coins for $5 USD. It's worth noting that Capcom offers packages of 250, 610, 1250, and 2750 Fighter Coins.

Lastly, we must remember that these items are purely cosmetic and only serve to personalize the avatar and other features in Street Fighter 6's World Tour and Battle Hub game modes. Therefore, the turtles are not individual characters.
