The company is committing to improve its relationship with its creator community

Rockstar Games has had some disputes with its community that enjoys Grand Theft Auto mods and Roleplay, but the company wants to change this situation. To do so, it pulled out its wallet and bought a new studio in charge of popular modding tools.

This morning, the company announced the acquisition of Cfx.re, a group that has designed some of the most acclaimed modifications for Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. In its statement, Rockstar pledged to improve its relationship with the creator community, which has its fans very excited.

Rockstar buys Cfx.re to boost roleplay

The studio explained that Cfx.re's creations caught its attention powerfully. It knows that the community enjoys mods that expand the scope of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, so it wants to be part of this and support the creator community.

For that reason, they bought Cfx.re to boost the Roleplay that the community loves so much. No details of the deal were disclosed, so it is not known how much Rockstar invested in the team. This union will serve to offer more forms of support to the enthusiasts of this game variant.

“As a way to further support those efforts, we recently expanded our policy on mods to officially include those made by the roleplay creative community. By partnering with the Cfx.re team, we will help them find new ways to support this incredible community and improve the services they provide to their developers and players”, Rockstar stated.

Previously, several modders decided to pause or stop their projects altogether under pressure from Rockstar and Take-Two. Many believe that the acquisition of Cfx.re may open the door to a better relationship between the companies and modding enthusiasts.
