One of the significant challenges Xbox faced during the past decade was the absence of exclusives, both in terms of quantity and quality. This was an issue that Xbox Game Studios sought to address through investments and acquisitions. Now, these efforts are bearing fruit, and that's why the company states it will deliver on its promise to release 4 exclusives every year.

Recently, IGN interviewed Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, at gamescom 2023. They discussed the company's commitment to releasing 4 exclusive video games for Xbox each year. According to Spencer, this promise has already been fulfilled in 2023 with the launches of Starfield, Forza Motorsport, Redfall, and Hi-Fi Rush. This doesn't even account for the arrival of Age of Empires IV on consoles.

But what about the future? According to Spencer, they will continue to meet this target in 2024, with at least 4 releases from Xbox Game Studios planned for that year.

"We've talked about it as an aspiration; now we talk about it as a plan," Spencer pointed out in the interview.

During the conversation, Phil Spencer didn't reveal which Xbox exclusives are planned for 2024. That said, recent announcements have indicated that titles like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, Towerborne, Avowed, and the new version of Microsoft Flight Simulator are scheduled to debut next year.

And you, what's your opinion on this? How do you feel about Xbox's 2023? Do you think the upcoming year will be even better for the brand? Share your thoughts in the comments.
