The organization will no longer have a presence in the Battle Royale

Apex Legends is one of the most popular and intense Battle Royales in recent years. However, that doesn't mean it's for everyone. Proof of this is that one of its largest teams has decided to completely abandon the Battle Royale.

Recently, NRG, one of the world's largest esports organizations, announced that it has made the decision to exit the competitive Apex Legends scene. As a result, sweetdreams, nafen, and Glid will become free agents, and the team will lack a squad to represent them.

That's not all, as NRG also revealed that they will cease producing content related to Apex Legends. This means that babynikki, their content creator focused on Respawn Entertainment's Battle Royale, is also leaving the organization.

"Today, we announce our departure from Apex Legends," said NRG in a social media post. "Thanks to our players and creators, both past and present, for joining us on an incredible journey. We've competed with the best Apex can offer, and we wish everyone much success in the future."

Why is NRG discontinuing its competition in Apex Legends?

But why did they make this decision? It turns out the organization believes their investment in this competitive scene hasn't paid off. Additionally, we are in a time when several esports teams have been looking to cut expenses.

Certainly, NRG's departure will be felt in the competitive Apex Legends scene. After all, even though they never managed to win the competition, they consistently appeared as a prominent team. Thus, the ALGS (Apex Legends Global Series) loses one of its big stars.

Apex Legends is available for free on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
