ELDEN RING: Randy Orton Paid $1000 USD for Someone to Level Up His Character

Apparently, the WWE star hired someone to do the dirty work

Like a whirlwind, ELDEN RING shook the video game industry in early 2022. In addition to universal acclaim from the press, it sold millions of copies and captivated the gaming community. One of the people who ventured into the beautiful yet dangerous Lands Between was none other than WWE professional wrestler Randy Orton. However, it seems he had some help.

As part of a social media exchange that took place last year, the WWE star confessed to being a big fan of the FromSoftware and Hidetaka Miyazaki masterpiece. In response to a user, he revealed that at that time, he was at level 527, showcasing his passion for the game.

Now, however, it seems the wrestler had external help to deal with the more frustrating parts of the open-world video game.

In a live stream on the Twitch channel named The Insiderz, wrestlers Brennan Williams and Mansoor Al-Shehail shared a very amusing anecdote involving Randy Orton, also known in the ring as The Legend Killer or The Apex Predator.

Specifically, the duo recalled the time when the WWE star approached them before an episode of Monday Night Raw to talk about ELDEN RING and how challenging he found it. There, allegedly, he confessed to paying someone to help him level up.

"Yes, it's very complicated. I paid $1000 USD to a guy to give me infinite runes so I could level up to 100 immediately," said Randy Orton, according to Mansoor Al-Shehail. Immediately, Brennan Williams continued with the story and claimed that Orton told them the following: "I love this game, it's awesome. But no, I couldn't deal with that crap, so I paid a guy to give me a bunch of runes."

The former pair of wrestlers joked about the situation and imagined, with laughter, that the wrestling legend turned to social media to make the strange offer. You can watch the video here.

Certainly, Randy Orton is not the only celebrity who played ELDEN RING. Not too long ago, Elon Musk, the controversial owner of Twitter/X, is a big fan of FromSoftware's work and takes any opportunity to talk about the video game.

But tell us, what do you think of this curious story? Let us know in the comments.

ELDEN RING is already available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
