Grand Theft Auto V was released over 10 years ago, so the community is eager to learn the first details of the next installment. When will GTA VI be announced? The date is a mystery, but Rockstar Games itself revealed that the unveiling is close. That message caught the attention of thousands of people and set a new record.

This week, the company addressed the latest rumors and confirmed that it will reveal the first trailer for the new installment of the franchise in early December 2023. Naturally, the announcement excited fans, who shared the post and expressed their excitement on social media.

Rockstar Games broke a new record on Twitter | X thanks to GTA VI

Sam Houser, co-founder of Rockstar Games, used the company's official X account to post a thread thanking fans for making the 25th anniversary of the studio possible.

"In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded with the idea that video games could become as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment, and we hope to have created games that you enjoy in our effort to be a part of that evolution," commented Sam Houser on X, the social network formerly known as Twitter.

Of course, what caught the most attention in the thread was the last post, where it was confirmed that the GTA VI trailer will arrive very soon. That brief text was enough to break a new record on Elon Musk's platform.

At this moment, the post already has over a million likes and has more than 119.8 million views on X. It's an impressive achievement, as it became the tweet related to gaming with the highest number of likes in the entire history of the social network within hours.

Interestingly, the previous records also belong to Rockstar Games. Now, the second most-liked tweet is the one where the company acknowledged last year's massive leak, while the post confirming that the new installment was in development is the third with the most likes.

So, it's noteworthy that the top 3 most popular gaming-related tweets in the history of Twitter | X are related to GTA VI. It's easy to assume that the company will easily surpass these records when they share the official trailer sometime in December.

But tell us, what do you think of these achievements? Let us hear from you in the comments.
