Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster specialize in the horror genre

Blumhouse Productions has become one of the top horror film companies despite its short time in the industry. Fans of this genre must be excited, as the company announced today that it will merge with another entity specialized in these types of films.

Through their Twitter account, the founder and leader of Blumhouse Productions, Jason Blum, announced that the deal with the film company of the creative James Wan, Atomic Monster, had finally closed.

"Our deal... is closed," Blum expressed. "Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster have officially joined forces. The preeminent homes of horror are now under the same roof."

How will the merger between Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster affect?

According to details (via Deadline), both companies will continue to operate under their own brand and maintain their creative autonomy. The change will be seen in the scope of Atomic Monster projects, which will be able to leverage the infrastructure of Blumhouse Productions for their film, TV, and other multimedia projects, including video games or live events. Also, Atomic Monster will be covered by the deal Blumhouse Productions has with Universal Pictures.

Atomic Monster was founded in 2014 and has since worked on more than 10 films and franchises such as The Nun, M3GAN, The Conjuring, Annabelle, Aquaman, and Mortal Kombat.

Blumhouse Productions, on the other hand, was founded at the beginning of the millennium and has worked on dozens of projects and franchises such as Halloween, The First Purge, Get Out, Paranormal Activity, and Five Nights at Freddy's.

Together, Atomic Monster and Blumhouse Productions have generated $11.6 billion since 2004.
