After becoming independent, Toys for Bob would work again with Microsoft.

It was surprising a month ago that Toys for Bob parted ways with Activision Blizzard to become an independent company, but that doesn't mean it would work for Microsoft again, but rather the studio left the door open for collaboration and it seems to have just materialized.

The Californian studio would have found an ally in Microsoft to finance its next game. We know this thanks to a report from Windows Central, in which a source recounted that Xbox executive Matt Booty had confirmed the alliance with the developer.

According to the details, Xbox would have held a meeting where questions were raised about what had happened with Toys for Bob. Booty would have taken the opportunity to officially announce that an agreement had been reached to finance the next project of Toys for Bob as an independent studio.

What will be the next game from Toys for Bob?

The most interesting part is that, although no details were offered about the next project, Booty allegedly stated that it would be similar to the games Toys for Bob has made in the past.

Toys for Bob is a studio with 35 years of history and several games developed, but it is best known for being one of the main studios that worked on Skylanders, as well as the new games or remakes of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro.

In their announcement of independence, Toys for Bob made it clear that they were still in an early stage of development of their next project, so there was still a long way to go before the revelation.

It is important to remember that although Toys for Bob became independent from Activision and Microsoft, the franchises they worked on, such as Crash Bandicoot, Skylanders, and Spyro, belong to Microsoft. Considering this, it could be thought that the studio formalized the alliance to work on a new installment of these series.

However, it is not ruled out that Toys for Bob made this alliance to develop a new franchise, as they anticipated that the team was excited to develop new stories, new characters, and new gameplay experiences.
