Video game adaptations to film and TV have already proven to be both commercial and critical successes. Fallout, the new original series from Prime Video, promises to captivate both gaming enthusiasts and audiences who enjoy post-apocalyptic stories. While awaiting its official premiere, it appears that Amazon is fully confident in the project and is already preparing for the next big step.

As reported by Variety, the California Film Commission has awarded $152 million in tax incentives to a dozen television programs. What's interesting is that the show based on Bethesda's RPGs appears on the list with a second season, even before the premiere of the first episodes.

The Ambitious Fallout Series Could Have a Second Season

According to the report, the tax incentives, offered to companies to encourage filming in the state, are granted to projects that are generally already in production or in a planning phase. Although the second season of Fallout has not been officially confirmed yet, it seems inevitable.

The report highlights that the new season of Fallout is listed as one of the projects that accepted the incentive, meaning that the production company Kilter Films agreed to relocate filming to California. Let's recall that the initial episodes were produced in New York, although part of the filming took place in Utah, United States.

"Fallout has the largest budget of all the programs, with $153 million in qualified expenses for the season," reads the Variety article. Other productions listed include Dr. Odyssey, Grotesquerie, NCIS: Origins, The Pitt, and more.

That said, Amazon has not yet officially confirmed whether the show will have a second season, so we'll have to wait to find out what fate holds for this production.

The series based on Bethesda's video game is led by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, creators of the acclaimed Westworld. Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Michael Emerson, and Aaron Moten are part of the main cast. It's expected to start streaming from April 11 on Amazon's Prime Video subscription service.

But tell us, are you excited about this series?
