Call of Duty: cheaters have increased in recent days; Activision provides an explanation and makes a promise

Fans of the franchise and Xbox Game Pass users have been victims of the cheats

Activision has been combating Call of Duty cheaters for years. While their efforts have yielded good results, the reality is that it is very difficult to eliminate the problem at its root. Proof of this is that reports of cheaters have surged in recent days, coinciding with the franchise's arrival on Xbox Game Pass with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.

As usual, players raised their voices and complained to the company about the increase in cheating. As a result, Activision released a statement explaining why the number of cheaters in the series has increased in recent days and reassured worried fans.

Don't be discouraged if you've played Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III or Warzone in recent days and have been targeted by cheaters. Reports of unauthorized tool use have increased in recent days for a simple reason: there were issues with the franchise's anti-cheat system.

In its statement, Activision explained that Ricochet Anti-Cheat, their security system, had an error in its cheat detection system over the weekend, which caused the number of cheaters to increase and, consequently, more reports.

“If you suspect a player in your lobby is cheating, regardless of platform, we recommend you submit a report in-game for further investigation. We remain committed to combating cheaters, shutting down cheat vendors, and providing our players a fair and fun experience," promised the studio.

At the time of writing, the problem with Ricochet Anti-Cheat has been resolved, so matches should proceed normally. Despite this, the presence of a cheater or two in the games is not ruled out, as the security system is not infallible.

The good news is that Activision will continue to take action, which is undoubtedly of interest to fans planning to enjoy the franchise's future releases and its arrival on Xbox Game Pass.
