Attractive rewards disappeared overnight

Sony has treated its players to various initiatives, one of the most recent being PlayStation Stars, a rewards program that allows users to accumulate points and exchange them for various prizes, including attractive games for PlayStation 5.

Initially, the program was very well received; however, it has been involved in several controversies. Bugs and technical issues have affected its functionality on several occasions, gradually making it less appealing. To the point that its users thought Sony might forget about it and shut it down.

Now, players are once again concerned about the future of PlayStation Stars. This is because, without prior notice, Sony removed some of its most attractive rewards and has yet to replace them.

Until a few days ago, PlayStation Stars offered attractive games as rewards in exchange for points. However, this changed without prior notice, as Sony removed them from the section where users can redeem prizes.

According to reports, games like Helldivers 2, The Rise of Ronin, Balatro, and Minecraft can no longer be obtained through the program. This is disappointing for many players who were saving points to get one of these titles.

While it is still possible to redeem games like Stellar Blade, part of the community is upset because Sony did not publicly notify these changes. Additionally, the company has not replaced the games with equally attractive rewards.

For this reason, PlayStation Stars players and users are worried about the future of the service and the quality of its rewards. Currently, the service also offers Genshin Impact coins, Naraka Bladepoint, NBA 2K24, and expansions for Destiny 2 as rewards.

However, players believe it is not worth redeeming their points accumulated over months for these types of prizes. Thus, they hope Sony will soon add new rewards that genuinely catch their attention. As of this writing, the company has not provided an explanation for what happened with PlayStation Stars.
