Black Myth: Wukong was unexpectedly delayed on Xbox. Game Science is currently working to bring their successful game to Xbox Series X|S as soon as possible; however, they did not delve into the reasons behind this postponement, which disappointed many players.

According to their sources, Black Myth: Wukong indeed has a technical issue on Xbox consoles, which prevented its anticipated launch and caused an indefinite delay.

According to insider eXtas1s, various sources spoke about the absence of Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox during gamescom 2024. Thanks to this, it’s known that there is a technical issue with the game on Microsoft consoles, specifically a memory leak.

Details suggest that this error causes significant failures that could compromise the consoles' performance. As a result, Black Myth: Wukong has not received the green light in error detection tests on Xbox, leading to its indefinite delay.

Game Science is currently working to optimize the game and make the Xbox Series X|S port a reality. Once this is achieved, they can obtain certification from Microsoft and Xbox to later set a release date.

The insider states that the port is almost ready and that this issue is the main obstacle to its release. However, this does not necessarily mean the Xbox launch will happen soon.

It could take several months for Game Science to achieve certification and prepare everything for the official release on Xbox Series X|S. For now, the popular game is only available on PlayStation 5 and PC, where it has already sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
