At the beginning of September, Sony revealed several surprises to celebrate PlayStation's 30th anniversary, with the promise of more announcements to come. The company wants to celebrate this special milestone in style, so today it announced a new line of special edition hardware that pays tribute to the original PlayStation.

Through its official blog, Sony revealed a PlayStation 5 Pro, a PlayStation Portal, and a DualSense special edition with a unique, nostalgic design. Preorders for the hardware and its accessories will begin soon, and they are sure to become highly sought-after collectibles.

As mentioned, the new hardware line is a tribute to the original PlayStation, which debuted in 1994 and marked a turning point in video games. The 30th anniversary collectibles stick to its design, featuring a gray color scheme and the brand's logo in its original colors.

To start, Sony revealed the PlayStation 5 Pro Console – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle, which includes a unit of the new console, a DualSense, a DualSense Edge, a charging station, a disc drive cover, a vertical stand, as well as various collectible items such as a poster, stickers, a retro-style cable, and more.

The collectible will also be available in a bundle that includes a digital version of the PlayStation 5 Pro. Only 12,300 units of these consoles will be produced, making it a rare system in the future, and it's almost certain that it’s already on the radar of resellers.

Sony will also offer separately a DualSense Edge, a standard DualSense, and a PlayStation Portal with the same commemorative design. This collection will debut on November 21, with preorders starting on September 26 at direct.playstation.com. The price of the collectibles has not yet been confirmed.
