The company wants to simplify access to everything related to Xbox

Microsoft has done everything to ensure that millions of users can access Xbox Game Pass in a simple and intuitive way. For this reason, the service currently offers an app for iOS and Android devices, where users can check out all the latest news related to the subscription platform.

However, this will change soon, as the company will stop supporting the app and shut it down in the near future. Xbox Game Pass users need not worry, as a better alternative is in the works that will help players stay updated on everything related to Xbox from the palm of their hands.

Xbox users know that the company has several apps for mobile devices, including a standalone one for Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft aims to simplify access to its gaming ecosystem by merging the Game Pass app with the general Xbox app into one.

This means that the Xbox Game Pass app will disappear, but its most prominent features will be integrated into the general Xbox app. Players will be able to view their profiles, games, the full Game Pass library, manage their memberships, and claim monthly rewards all in one place.

Additionally, group chat, text chat, and options for remote game installation will still be available. The new version of the Xbox app is currently in testing, with Insider program members already getting a preview.

For now, there is no exact release date for the public rollout; however, Microsoft has confirmed it will be available soon. As for the current Xbox Game Pass app, it will no longer be available for download starting in November.
